About the Author: Tracey Cramer-Kelly
I'm married to a man (Tim) who actually puts up with all my crazy ideas ... a "homebody" balance to my manic Type-A "go-go" personality ... a man who keeps me grounded. We have two children (son Nathan, 5, and our "love child" daughter, Evelyn, 1). For someone who swore in my younger days that I'd never have children, I am regularly astounded by my capacity for love and humbled by the blessing these two bring to my life.
I enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds (downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, water skiing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, etc). I would spend every day on the river if I could!
I've been a "biker chick" since I was 16 years old (and yes, I wear leather!). My current ride is a Kawasaki Vulcan 900. But I tend to get a new motorcycle more often than I should!
Although Tim doesn't care for flying (he prefers his 1969 GTO Judge!), it's one of my greatest joys. I obtained my helicopter pilot license in 2001 and it remains my "first flying love" (a helicopter plays a part in Last Chance Rescue). I've also taken a few lessons in the T-Bird ultralight -- much more affordable! Maybe someday I'll have time to pursue that again.
I spend a good deal of my time (especially in spring and summer) managing the motorcycle accessories business Tim and I own, Leader Motorcycle Accessories (you can read more about our business and our patented products on the About Us page). I feel extraordinarily blessed to be doing something I love!
The creative side of me demands that I have an outlet. Often, that is writing. But sometimes, it's music, art or something more physical. See the Creative Pursuits page for details about "my" music CD and taiko drumming.
About the BookLast Chance Rescue draws extensively from my experience as an Army Reserve paramedic. If you like medical drama, you'll like Last Chance Rescue! Special thanks to the folks at Idaho Air Rescue for allowing me to ride along with their medevac team and interview their search-and-rescue personnel.
Last Chance Rescue also touches on a matter of personal concern, which is the mistreatment of horses involved in the Premarin trade. Horses are magnificent creatures, and it breaks my heart to think of what they endure. You can read more about horses and Premarin at www.pmurescue.org.
